KMNO4 Filtration Scrubbing Media
In Chinese market, KMNO4 filtration scrubbing media is two kinds of method to produced. One is immersion, another is mixed.
In China, only our factory adopts mixed method to produce KMNO4 Filtration scrubbing media. Other all factories use immersion method.
What difference of mixed and immersion type?
Simply, the production method is different. Mixed impregnated activated alumina with potassium permanganate will mix potassium permanganate with AL2O3 and other mateirals, then roll the material to balls and burned it. The immersion activated alumina impregnated activated alumina will immerse the activated alumina into potassium permanganate for several hours.

The Method is very easy. The immersion type looks more nice and same color, but mixed alumina balls has white balls in it. But, when you crush the white beads, its ineer is purple. And when we crush the purple immersion alumina beads, its inner is white, not purple.

Pseudoboehmite
alumina are supplied as loosely agglomerated, easily dispersed, spray-dried
powders (about 50 microns mean diameter) possessing high-purity, high surface
area and low bulk density. Each Versal alumina particle is built from nominal
30 angstrom (3.0 nm) crystallites through a unique acid-base precipitation
process using a proprietary reactor configuration that allows control of
density, particle morphology, colloidal dispersibility and thermal conversion
processes.

Activated alumina filter has several application with different promotors, materials and different temperature and other situation. What is activated alumina filter? We think activated alumina could remove some unuseful gas or others called filter.
1. activated alumina impregnted with KMNO4/activated alumina impregnated with potassium permanganate.
Activated alumina material mixed with potassium permangante could highly remove H2S, SO2, HCHO and some harmful gas.
Activated alumina material could manufacture activated alumina defluorination filter, which production is different with activated alumina desiccant. And it could remove arsenic in water.

What is Pseudoboehmite?
Pseudoboehmite is also called pseudo boeohmite or False monohydrate soft diaspore, which is alumina crystals containing 1.8 -2.5 crystallization water molecules. It is the first crystal phase in the synthesis of aluminum hydroxide, which is the transition of aluminum hydroxide. And its crystallization is incomplete, The typical crystal shape is a very thin folded wafer. When comparing pseudoboehmite with aluminium hydroxide, you could see pseudoboehmite has incomplete crystallization water molecules,. Therefore has many special properties, such as space mesh structure, larger pore gap, higher surface area, and it will become sticky colloidal thixotropy in acid condition etc. All these features make pseudoboehmite has special application.
In modern oil refining and chemical industry, more than 90% chemical reaction process are implemented through catalytic process, thus catalyst has become a new technology of oil refining and new chemical technology and new product development. Solid catalysts are generally used in the oil refining industry, it is by the carrier and active component of two parts. Carrier is peculiar to the solid catalyst component, which can increase the specific surface area, heat resistance and mechanical strength. It is the active component of dispersant, binder, or support.
Catalytic cracking is the most important Secondary processing procedure in the current oil refinery, and an important means of production of light oil, especially high octane number gasoline. Catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst is the core of the catalytic cracking process. Zibo Xiangrun in the production of ordinary pseudoboehmite, mainly used for catalyst carrier in oil catalytic cracking (FCC) . As the heavy crude oil and inferior crude oil in the world, blending heavy oil, residual oil has become a widely used way of processing of oil, so it requires oil catalytic cracking (FCC) catalyst has big hole to to diffuse heavy oil molecular, and improve the catalyst cracking ability of macromolecular compounds in raw materials with appropriate acid density. To satisfy this requirement, people usually adopts two methods: one is the modified Y zeolite make twice big hole, the second method is introducing high hydrothermal stability of solid acid catalyst compound to improve the pore size distribution and acidic density of active center. Currently the second approach is widely used, namely by adding activated alumina catalyst to improve catalyst substrate.

Efficient Potassium Permanganate Impregnated Alumina Beads to Reduce Atmospheric Ethylene
Potassium permanganate absorbent could remove low
levels of ethylene from the atmosphere.
Commonly, Absorption of potassium permanganate onto activated alumina beads by dipping in a saturated solution was maximal at 2 g/100 g after 2 hours at 20 °C and 4 g/100 g after 1 hour at 65 °C. In our company, we mix the potassium permanganate with alumina materials firstly, then we make the purple beads. Mixed type is better than immersion one, including adsorption ability and even materials. You could find their difference from the look. Commercial alumina-based absorbents were found to contain potassium permanganate at 6.0 g to 12.0 g/100 g suggesting many are prepared at elevated temperature. Trials in a closed system at 20 °C and 60% to 70% RH with alumina beads containing potassium permanganate at 4 g/100 g showed a logarithmic decrease in ethylene concentration with 90% of the ethylene removed after 2.5 to 3.0 hours. Relative humidity (RH) had a marked inverse effect on ethylene absorption with reactivity at 100% RH calculated to be 15% of that at 0% RH. Performance of potassium permanganate where ethylene was continually generated by a continuous flow of ethylene at 14 µL·h-1 through the container showed a steady state was attained within 1 hour and maintained for 24 hours. Ethylene removal increased linearly with bead weight and ranged from 30% with 1 g to 90% with 50 g. Examination over 20 days showed a continuing decrease in rate of ethylene removal which after 14 days had declined to 10% of incoming ethylene although 44% of the original level of potassium permanganate still remained in the beads. Calculations based on known endogenous ethylene production rates suggest that at 20 °C and 90% RH, use of a potassium permanganate-alumina absorbent would be beneficial with produce having a low level of ethylene generation. Suitability for larger packages of produce generating higher ethylene levels is questionable as >1 kg of absorbent may be required.
